Pascal,

this article was promoted by Google (lucky you) and I was hoping to see a well-thought out argument with reference to ethics in philosophy, but I'm not sure how you think veganism is 'unethical' as this isn't uncovered in the body of your post.

Instead, it appears that:

a) you don't really understand what veganism is

b) someone pointed out to you that harming animals is unethical and you responded with "No it isn't! NOT harming animals is unethical!"

c) you employ ad-hominem by claiming that most all vegans are virtue signalling

d) you claim that making a more ethical choice is basically unethical, given that a larger number of people make an unethical choice, and that the ethical choice has an infinitesimal impact. (Imagine a hitman arguing in court that "someone else would have done it if I didn't do it")

I find, predominantly, that the difference between vegans and non-vegans is simple: more knowledge. Vegans became aware of what was happening and changed their behaviour. Some people, of course, kick against the newfound knowledge, in the same way that the protagonist in Plato's cave is killed by the people he unties.

To be fair, seeing what is outside the cave, or in this case what is behind the walls of slaughterhouses, is depressing.

But please don't diss vegans until you've had a much, much deeper look at the reality of the situation.

Would love to hear your thoughts after you have done some deeper study on the topic (assuming you're open to having your mind changed by evidence and logic).
